ADIREBYDCOLLECTIONS is the first tie and dye, Adire, Batik vendor in Australia, established in the year 2020 to promote and preserve African cultural heritage in Australia.
Adire means simply tied designs on cotton fabric handspun and woven locally. Tie-dye resist can include several methods including stitching or tying.
Adire is unique because of it process, indigenous designs and the beautiful end result which portray the rich African cultural heritage, the tradition of the Yoruba people and west African countries such as Mali, Ghana, Uganda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Gambia, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Togo and Benin.
Adire is made by a Yoruba artist in Nigeria in the mid-20th century out of cotton and indigo dye. Our products are made in Nigeria.
